Kabuli chana cutlets

Chickpea or Garbanzo beans is most commonly known as kabuli chana in India.Chickpea is rich in protein.It is one of the oldest cultivated legumes.This recipe is my own creation .What better way than this  to make the kids eat.Be it kids or grown ups,one will enjoy this yummy cutlets with ketchup or chutney.

Ingredients:

Kabuli chana or chick pea-1 cup (boiled)
Potatoes-3 (boiled)
Bread slices-4
Chilly powder-1/2 tsp
Garam masala powder-1/4 tsp
Coriander powder-1/4 tsp
Cumin powder-a pinch
Pepper powder-a pinch
Coriander leaves-3 tsp chopped
Green chillies -2 (paste)
Salt –to taste
Breadcrumbs to dip the patties-3tbsp
Temper:
Oil-1/2 tsp
Mustard seeds-1/4 tsp
Curry leaves-2 sprigs
Cashewnuts-7-8 cut into bits
Urad dhal (split black gram)-1/4 tsp
Method for fresh breadcrumbs:
Run the bread slices in the mixer and grind coarsely just for a second.
Method:
1)Coarsely grind the chana in the mixer.
2)Mash the potatoes and add the chana.
3)Add the fresh bread crumbs to the dough.
4)Add all the spices one by one .
5)Add salt to taste.
6)Heat oil,add mustard seeds,after it splutters add split black gram,cashews and curry leaves.
7)Add this temper to the dough.
8)Shape the dough into desired shape  and slightly flatten it.
9)Dip the patties into the  breadcrumbs and shallow fry it on a griddle on both the sides.
