Paneer uruval

Paneer uruval is an excellent veg starter.I prepared this dish sometime back and was a super hit.Many of my friends too tried this starter and liked it.Same recipe may be prepared with mushroom,egg,prawns or chicken.I adapted this recipe from my FB friend Seema D Shenoy who is an excellent cook.Thank you Seema for the awesome recipe.I made slight changes with the recipe as per my taste.This recipe is  a keeper 🙂



Ingredients to be marinated:
Paneer-200 gm(I used 2 packets)
Ginger garlic paste-1 tsp
Turmeric powder-1/4 tsp
Salt – to taste
Ingredients to  be ground:
Fried long chillies-5-6 nos
Garlic-5 flakes
Ginger-2”
Tamarind-a small pinch
Ingredients to be fried:
Long red chillies-5-6 no s
Cashewnuts-10-15 bits
Curry leaves-20 leaves
Oil-2 tsp
Other ingredients:
Onions- 2-3 ,cut lengthwise(Or chopped)
Tomato -2, pureed
Oil-2- 3 tsp
Tomato sauce-2 tsp





Method:

  1. Marinate the paneer with the ingredients mentioned under ingredients to be  marinated.
  2. Grind the ingredients mentioned under to be ground and keep it aside.
  3. Take a pan,heat oil and fry the ingredients mentioned under to be fried and keep it aside.
  4. In the same pan heat oil , fry onions until red in color,add the ground masala,tomato puree  and fry until raw smell disappears and the oil leaves the sides of the pan.
  5. Add marinated paneer cubes,tomato sauce,cover and cook  until done.
  6. Garnish with fried ingredients and stir fry for few minutes.

My notes:
I also garnished with fried onions.
