Rava Ladoo

Today is Mahavir Jayanthi and I thought of sharing something sweet . Rava Ladoo is also one of my personal favourite .The main ingredient for this ladoo is Bombay rava . I had bookmarked this recipe long back and finally nailed it recently. Homemade sweets and savories are best to serve the guests or the family as it is prepared with personal touch and hygienically . I always feel self content whenever I prepare something new . I thank Santoshi Nayak for sharing me this recipe . Ingredients:

Bombay rava – 2 cups

Sugar – 1 1/2 cups (powder it )

Grated coconut – 1 cup

Milk – less than 1/4 cup

Cardamom powder – 1/2 tsp

Ghee – 2 tbsp

Cashewnuts – few ,broken

Raisins – 10 – 12

Method:

  1. Heat 1 tsp of ghee , roast nuts and raisins .
  2. Keep it aside .
  3. Heat the remaining ghee and roast rava for 7 – 8 minutes until you get a nice aroma .
  4. Transfer it in a bowl .
  5. In the same pan roast grated coconut for 3-4 minutes .
  6. Transfer it in a bowl .
  7. Add powdered sugar,cardamom powder and dry fruits together .
  8. Mix all the ingredients , add milk few tbsp s at a time until you get a binding consistency to make ladoos.
  9. Take some mixture in your fist and press it tight to make ladoos .
  10. If it breaks add milk and try to bind .
  11. Make ladoos with all the mixture .
  12. Store it in an airtight container .
