Quick beetroot curry

This curry is again my Ammas recipe and she prepares this often.Goes best with chapathi and rice.This curry can be prepared in a jiffy and a very healthy curry too.

Beetroot-1 cup,chopped into small cubes
Onion-1,chopped medium
Potato-1,chopped into small cubes
Tomato-1 big,chopped
Tur dal-1/2 cup,cooked
Sambhar powder-1 1/2 tsp
Coriander leaves- 3 tbsp,chopped
Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
Curry leaves-2 sprigs


  1. Cook all the vegetables together until it gets cooked.
  2. Add sambhar powder,salt to taste,cooked tur dal and take a boil.
  3. Heat oil,splutter mustard seeds and add curry leaves.
  4. Season it to the curry.
  5. Garnish it with coriander leaves.
  6. Serve it with chapathi or rice.

  2. This looks too yummm! I personally love beetroot, but for some reason I never encourage adding it to my diet 😀 as it put on weight 😀
    It makes me feel scared 😛 I shall try ur version for sure sometime next when we get beetroots
