Anjal Rawa fry

Hello dear readers! Today I will share a traditional Mangalorean fish recipe called Anjal Rawa fry . Being in coastal region we get very fresh catch here and we take full advantage of it. I love fish and it is very healthy too. Normally if the fish is deep fried it tastes better but I maximum shallow fry it in a tawa adding little oil for health reasons.

Ingredients:

Anjal / Seer fish fillets – 4

Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbsp

Kashmiri chilly powder – 2 tbsp approx *

Hing – 2 pinches

Salt – to taste

Besan – 2 tbsp

Lime – to taste

Curry leaves – few

Bombay rawa – as much as needed

Coconut oil – as much needed to shallow or deep fry

Method:

  1. Clean the fish well.
  2. Apply salt to taste gently.
  3. Make a paste with chilly powder, hing, ginger garlic paste and besan along with water.
  4. Apply it to the fish.
  5. Keep it aside for few hours if there is time.
  6. Heat  oil , coat the fish with rawa on both the sides and shallow fry it with curry leaves.
  7. You may also deep fry.
  8. Serve it hot.
