Tomato soup

                               There was one point in my life where I believed only tomato soup existed.This is the first soup I ever tasted in my life as a kid.Amma used to prepare this yummilicious soup for the family and I would garnish loads of bread croutons and relish it heartily.Mamama too used to prepare this soup often.As I grew up I was exposed to other soups like sweet corn soup and many more.But Tomato soup was always my all time favourite soup. I prepare different versions of the tomato soup everytime.This version is one of the easiest one and I prepare this often when there is huge stock of tomatoes..This soup is good for health freaks too and is a great filling to the tummy.Please check my tomato basil soup here.

Carrots-2,(I used ooty carrots)
Garlic flakes-3
Garam masala powder-1 tsp
Chilly powder- to taste
Pepper powder-to taste
Tomato sauce-3 tbsp
Salt- to taste
Sugar- a pinch(optional)
Water- as much needed

  1. Wash tomatoes,peel the skin of the carrot,garlic,add 2 cups of water in a pressure and cook it for 2 whistles.
  2. Once cooked,cool it,peel the skin to tomatoes and transfer all the ingredients in a blender.
  3. Blend it into a smooth paste.
  4. You may strain the paste or use it just like that.
  5. Add water and adjust the consistency.
  6. Add salt,sugar,garam masala powder,chilly powder,tomato sauce and pepper powder.
  7. Take a boil and adjust the spices.
  8. Serve it hot with butter and bread croutons.
