Crispy Masala Dosa

When it comes to trying dosa recipe I have tried countless recipe’s . This is originally Mysore Masala Dosa recipe but I made plain dosa. Many a times I make plain dosa and pair it with chutney. My daughter Sanjana likes crispy dosa’s topped with cheese. Dosa’s are a staple of G.S.B’s. This time I tried Nandini Kini’s recipe . Originally  the recipe belongs to her friend Manjula Pai . Dosa’s came out very good. I personally liked it.

Dosa rice – 1 cup

Urad dal – 1/4 cup

Chana dal – 2tbsp

Methi seeds – 1 tsp

Cooked white rice – 2 fistful

Salt – to taste

Sugar – 1tsp


  1. Soak dosa rice, urad dal, chana dal and methi seeds together for 4 to 5 hours.
  2. Grind it to a fine batter with cooked rice adding water.
  3. Ferment it overnight or 8 to 10 hours.
  4. Next morning add salt to taste and 1tsp of sugar.
  5. Beat the batter well.
  6. Make crisp dosa’s.
  7. Serve it hot with chutney.
